Resources for Human Development is open and hiring for a Full-Time/Part Time Registered Nurse in Westmoreland County, PA                                       

The RHD impACT Registered Nurse provides the medical and psychiatric assessment and direct care as appropriate to state laws and as prescribed by a licensed physician. These services are designed for consumers diagnosed with a serious and persistent mental illness and having met the criteria for participation in the RHD impACT Team.

Responsibilities/Duties




  • Act as part of a multidisciplinary team designed to provide services from a holistic and Values-based perspective.

  • Provide education to both persons served and staff regarding common health concerns.

  • Assess and respond to new/potential/  ongoing health issues in persons served.

  • Provide training to staff as required/requested in order to best meet the needs of persons served.

  • Manage the ordering/delivery/storage/ administration of medications for the persons served in accordance with the specific program/service.


  • Complete documentation as required by RHD, funder/licensing/ accreditation bodies.



Required Experience



  • Psychiatric experience preferred


Required Education




  • A graduate of a school of professional nursing 

  • Associate's Degree accepted, BSN preferred



Required Qualifications




  • Current license to practice in Pennsylvania

  • Certification in Psychiatric Nursing specialty from American Nurses

  • Driver's license required



Program Summary



The RHD ImpACT (Assertive Community Treatment) Program provides community-based services to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. ACT is an evidence-based, recovery-oriented service delivery model that provides a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to consumer care. The primary goals of the program are to lessen or eliminate the debilitating symptoms of mental illness each consumer experiences, minimize or prevent recurrent acute episodes of the illness, and to enhance quality of life and functioning.
