This position will serve as a Project Coordinator/Research Technician for the Center for Vaccine Research. The incumbent will be responsible for the supporting research efforts involving laboratory internal quality systems and conducting independent methods and procedures for research involving molecular and cellular biology, in Biosafety Level (BSL) 2 and 3 environments with routine work in the Regional Biocontainment Laboratory (RBL). Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, serving as a liaison with industry partner representatives, managing laboratory quality system elements (QSE) test protocol development, preparation and management of standard operating procedures, study documentation and data lifecycle management for research quality systems.
The incumbent is expected to design and conduct independent studies; analyze , prepare and present data; perform advanced and complex biochemical and molecular biology techniques; maintain tissue culture lines and generate primary cell cultures; independently initiate and troubleshoot research protocols; supervise and train other professional research personnel in specialized techniques; operate and maintain laboratory equipment; evaluate and assess equipment availability and capability; maintain thorough documentation of laboratory results. This position requires successful completion of Department of Justice security clearance for work with Select Agents and Toxins, as required by Federal regulation and may require a yellow fever vaccination.
Master's degree in relevant field. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
