Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Head Teller position to join our Ashland Credit Union business at our Ashland, KY location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company. This position will report to Member Service Manager.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Deliver service in alignment with ACU’s Service Standards, Policies and Procedures.

  • Guide teller staff on complex transactions and approve cash withdrawals overrides on authorization limits.Schedule teller shifts, vacation and lunch schedules to guarantee teller line coverage.

  • Provide access to the vault and safety deposit boxes.  Responsible for sending out safety deposit box invoices and running the billing cycle each month.

  • Replenish and troubleshoot ATM machine.

  • Supervise tellers and their cash drawers.  Assist tellers for the cause of an overage or shortage when drawer does not balance correctly.

  • Order appropriate cash weekly for branch activity and maintain appropriate levels of cash in the branch according to credit union policy. Responsible for making sure vault is in balance to GL each day

  • Responsible for dual control logs used to monitor vault entry and night drops.

  • Cross-sell credit union products by answering inquiries, informing members of new services and product promotions.  Motivating teller team to remain friendly and professional at all times and also meet cross selling goals.

  • Train new tellers on credit union practices and procedures.

  • Handle member complaints that are related to the teller line and request fee reversals for members that qualify.

  • Record Retention for teller transaction documents

  • Other duties as requested by the President, EVP or manager

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:


  • Demonstrated supervisory skill and the ability to manage others fairly

  • Excellent customer service skills and good communication skills

  • High School Diploma

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

  • Minimum 2 years banking experience
