Job Summary

Instructs and supervises Laboratory Assistant II personnel, to guide the performance and timeliness of all blood collection activities. Performs venipuncture and skin puncture, orders & restocks supplies, monitors computer orders, answers phones, greets patients, visitors, and employees. Trains phlebotomy staff. Performs other related duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.

 

 

BLS Certification (renewable annually) and State of California 

 

Certified Phlebotomy Technician for direct patient care contact positions.

 

Must have at least 2 years previous venipuncture experience in an acute hospital.experience.
