You contribute to our success. Every role has an impact on our patients’ lives and you have the opportunity to make a difference. We are looking for a dedicated Surgery Attendant like you to be a part of our team.

As a Surgery Attendant, you will assist in the cleaning and preparation of the operating room suite. You will clean operating room equipment, maintain a sterile environment, perform duties in sterile processing, assist in patient transfers to and from the operating room, and assist with positioning the patient on the operating room table.


  • You will acquire and surgical equipment and supplies as needed for each surgical case

  • You will assist with cleaning and decontamination of equipment used in Surgery

  • You will identify malfunctioning equipment, trouble shoot equipment problems, and refer equipment to appropriate technical personnel for repair

  • You will maintain a thorough understanding of sterile procedures and demonstrate clinical ability

  • You will prioritize work assignments

  • You will communicate effectively with physicians, anesthesia staff, patients and co-workers

  • You will provide assistance to circulating RN and OR team in proper positioning on the OR table

  • You will assist with transfer of patient to and from OR table

  • You will assist with transport of stable patients to and from OR/PreOp/PACU and Inpatient Units

  • You will manage inventory, stock supplies, and identify and remove expired supplies

  • You will assist in sterile processing and decontamination

Qualifications

Experience


  • 6 months to 1 year continuous experience in healthcare – preferred

Education


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Licenses and Certifications


  • Basic Life Support (BLS) per St. David’s Healthcare policy
