To provide clerical and administrative assistance to the Quality and Risk Management Department under the Director of Quality and Risk Management.  Includes preparing, recording and maintaining all documentation that supports and defines organizational-wide quality inprovement processes, plans and policies.  Managing and analyzing risk management data, and complying with The Joint Commission (TJC) and Risk Management Standards, with the objective of controlling and minimizing loss to protect the assets of the facility.  


  1. Performs general office and secretarial work including typing, filing, and preparation of special reports, minutes, and agendas.

  2. Routes incoming and outgoing correspondence/mail as needed.

  3. Acts as Meditech Liaison for the Risk Management Department.

  4. Assists with an analysis plan for data management.

  5. Assists with legal cases to include scheduling of employees for deposition, setting up legal files, gather information for legal inquiries including medical records retrieval.

  6. Assists with investigations of incidents that could lead to professional/general liability claims

  7. Works with patients/families and visitors where appropriate to resolve outstanding issues within the guidelines approved by facility administration.

  8. Assists in developing policies and procedures to implement the Risk Management Program and annual risk management plan.

  9. Assists the Director of Quality of Risk Management in working to ensure compliance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures, State and Federal Laws/Regulations, and TJC Standards.

  10. Assists with Code 15 investigations and annual reports to the State per statutory requirements.

  11. Assists in analyzing incidents/occurrences and identifies patterns as evidence for tracking, trending and reporting.

  12. Maintains all aspects of the Record Retention Program, records destruction schedules, and oversight of records retention department liaisons for Quality and Risk Management Department.

  13. Maintains current knowledge and education in Risk Management.

  14. Attends various hospital committee meetings as directed or required.

  15. Maintains confidentiality at all times.

  16. Performs other related functions as assigned.

Qualifications

Education required and/or preferred:

Bachelor's Degree

Experience required ot preferred:

Minimum of 1 year of experience required

Healthcare setting experience preferred

Some customer service experience required
