Supervised By: Director of Clinical Education

Job Qualifications:

Master's degree in counseling, psychology, adult education, or related social or health sciences or education field. Doctorate in Counselor Education, Psychology, or a related social sciences field preferred. Specialized training, certification, and/or experience in simulation education preferred. At least 2-10 years of professional experience in behavioral health clinical training development and delivery, preferably in healthcare setting. At least 2 years experience in suicide prevention. Has experience researching, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training and simulation curricula tailored for behavioral health clinicians. Has excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Highly organized with an ability to lead in a fast-paced environment focused on innovation. Desire to work with a strong, emerging, and collaborative team whose mission is to "deliver care that changes people's lives."

Summary of Job:

Reporting to the Director of Clinical Education, the Clinical Education Specialist will lead and support the design, delivery, implementation, and management of curricula the Centerstone Center for Simulation in Behavioral Health, an Enterprise-wide hub for the delivery of clinical training in evidence-based psychotherapy models that align with Centerstone high priority clinical and grant-based projects. The Clinical Education Specialist will facilitate and support the development and delivery of simulation and immersion-based curricula, training effectiveness outcomes evaluation, and coordination with other clinical education entities across the Enterprise. The Clinical Education Specialist will both design and deliver synchronous and asynchronous curricula in a variety of suicide prevention and intervention curricula, as well as other behavioral health interventions and psychotherapies. The Clinical Education Specialist will work closely with the Manager of Simulation Education and the Clinical Education Coordinator. Remote work is a significant component of this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Develops immersive and simulation learning courses and curricula for Enterprise-wide suicide prevention initiatives.

  • Develops scripts, storyboards, simulation cases for immersive and simulation learning courses and curricula based upon the ANCHORS Model (Banks & Lockman, 2020).

  • Develops video and graphic design products for immersive and simulation learning courses and curricula based upon the ANCHORS Model (Banks & Lockman, 2020).

  • Develops learner assessment rubrics for immersive and simulation learning courses and curricula based upon the ANCHORS Model (Banks & Lockman, 2020).

  • Delivers immersive and simulation learning courses and curricula based upon the ANCHORS Model (Banks & Lockman, 2020).

  • Assesses learner performance in virtual and "in vivo" simulated patient experiences.

  • Delivers ongoing fidelity coaching in identified EBPs to learners and supervisors.

  • Designs and delivers simulation debrief sessions to standardized patients and learners.

Supervisory Responsibilities for:

Compliance requirement for annual completion of Catalytic Coaching and KPI forms.

Regular and Reliable Attendance is required.
