Initial responsibility as the point person for the integration of a new corporate Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is to carry the project to completion to schedule, budget, and functionality standards. Permanent responsibility for owning and nurturing all aspects of the MES for the Peabody manufacturing location and serving as a corporate resource for other world-wide manufacturing locations. Scope includes chairing cross-functional internal customer groups, documenting and prioritizing requirements, and creating road maps with supporting project plans. Internal customers are production employees, production supervisors, manufacturing engineers, and quality engineers. Reports to Managing Director of Global Manufacturing.
Responsibilities
Analogic point person in MES implementation. Ensure the following goals are met:
Capture actual labor at the work order level by operator and post data back to the SAP ERP System.
Capture and create As-Built Report / Electronic Device History Report (eDHR) per sub assembly and final assembly.
Replace or augment systems currently in-use for work instructions by building out the processes for each assembly in the MES.
Capture parametric data with range validation for process analysis.
Log select tools used by serial number.
In Process Quality Control including re-route failed units for diagnostics and rework.
Subject matter expert for all aspects of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) including:
Configuration and maintenance of the MES System
Internal master trainer for Peabody manufacturing location.
Primary point of contact for Peabody end-user support.
Expert resource for world-wide enterprise.
Specifying and obtaining required operator terminal hardware including computers, bar code scanners, printers, and carts.
Reporting on various aspects of the manufacturing process including:
Actual labor hours per assembly and operator.
Rework hours per assembly and operator.
Yield per assembly and operator.
Work in Process (WIP) status.
Process Improvement
Analyze data from MES system to evaluate production areas requiring improvement
Create and drive to completion process improvement projects with measurable results using data from MES
Skills
Expert at interfacing with IT systems.
Understand manufacturing administrative processes including routings, BOMs, work orders
Understand manufacturing technical processes such as process engineering
Create and deliver training to production workers and MES system users.
Work well on cross-functional team including manufacturing/process engineers, production personnel, quality engineers, and manufacturing supervisors
Qualifications

Formal Education & Certification
Four-year college diploma or university degree
Knowledge & Experience
Strong analytical skills required
Previous MES experience required
Previous FactoryLogix MES experience preferred
Previous MES implementation team experience preferred
Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems - previous SAP experience preferred
Experience with SQL, Power BI, or data analytics is a plus
