Description of Tasks Performed |
* Cultivates and builds relationships with prospective students within assignment areas. * Tracks how students are moving through the admissions cycle from initial contact to enrollment. Works to improve efficiencies of this cycle and the experience of prospective students. Actively recruits students by phone, electronic communication, student appointment, and by advocacy throughout the admission and scholarship process to reach transfer enrollment goals each semester. * Travels to assigned areas visiting community colleges, college fairs, and individual students and families. Identifies groups of students who will best fit for mission and admissions requirements. * Reviews and makes recommendations on transfer applications on a rolling basis. Evaluates applications and transcripts with special attention to types of classes taken, credits accomplished, major interest, and fit to the university. * Develops and foster relationships with community college counselors and administration, Phi Theta Kappa members, alumni, and others who may assist in the recruiting of transfer students. * Ability to develop relationships with students and community leaders in hopes of growing partnerships and relationships to positively impact recruitment efforts. * Ability to accurately review college transcripts to identify credit requirements and to determine accurate transfer credits. * Ability to develop strong working relationships with university advising, registrar, financial aid, and business office personnel. Also, an understanding of how these offices work, processes in place to help students, etc. |

Personal Interaction/Communication: Internal: prospective students for interviews and counseling; current students involved in recruitment programs; faculty regarding admission decisions; university administrators for coordination of programs between departments and new proposals of study; Student Financial Assistance regarding availability of financial aid and scholarship monies. External: Coordinate recruitment efforts for community college transfer students including campus visits, fairs, conferences, and workshops. |
