Reporting to the RN Director of Womens and Childrens Services, the Nursing Manager Acute Pediatric Services will lead a fabulous team of pediatric healthcare professionals. Supporting the Manager, is a CCRN-P Assistant Nurse Manager, as well as a CPN Nurse Supervisor who oversees the general pediatrics Unit. Also staffing this department are Pediatric Critical Care Insivists, PICU Nurse Practitioners and a team of highly trained pediatric RNs. This person will serve as a mentor to the staff, sponsoring training, skills development, and performance improvement.

The Acute Pediatric Services Nursing Manager oversees the Pediatric MedSurg unit, the Pediatric ICU and the Pediatric Emergency Department. This is a large service line consisting of 33 Pediatric MedSurg beds, 12 PICU Beds and 14 beds in the Pediatric Emergency Department. The Pediatric Service line treats children ranging in age from newborns to teens and is equipped to handle both low and high acuity childhood illnesses.

This position will be responsible for personnel management, budget planning and monitoring, scheduling, systems improvement, compliance with regulatory requirements and strategic planning. The Nursing Manager Acute Pediatric Services will provide collaborative leadership for the process of planning, integrating and coordinating activities to achieve departmental objectives and maintain high quality services.

The Acute Pediatric Services Nursing Manager will serve as a mentor to the staff, sponsoring training, skills development, and performance improvement. As an administrator, the Manager will oversee budget, staffing, and quality assurance initiatives. An ideal candidate for this role, will be able to develop and nurture positive professional relationships both internally and across operational boundaries.
