Responsible for the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems for the organization. This includes installation, connection, maintenance, modernization, repair, and removal of electrical equipment and systems to ensure a reliable, safe, and cost effective operation for all campus and satellite buildings.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of electrical maintenance or construction experience required.
High school education or equivalent required.
Knowledge of procurement and contract procedures required.
Knowledge and understanding of CMS, TJC, and local AHJ codes and requirements required.
Previously completed OSHA 10 hour safety training and have an understanding of NFPA 70E standard required.
Extensive knowledge of architectural engineering and contract specification plans and designs of electrical systems required.
Knowledge and understanding of BMS low voltage controls and designs required.
Knowledge of electrical distribution performance evaluation techniques, load demands, and changing system capacities required.
Understanding of NFPA 99, 101, and 110 codes and requirements required.
Ability to use equipment/ systems such as high voltage testers, safety equipment, induction testers, sub-station equipment, bus-duct systems, emergency generator systems, motor controls, lighting and wiring, medical equipment, and intercom systems required.
Ability to read technical equipment operations manuals, schematics, blueprints, design specifications, and project plans required.
State of Nebraska Journeyman electrician license required.
Current valid motor vehicle operator license and ability to meet and maintain insurability required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of experience in a hospital or medical care setting preferred.
Two years of trade or vocational schooling preferred.
Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate ongoing projects with various personnel, departments, contractors, and vendors preferred.
Ability to design electrical upgrade and repair projects and coordinate with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AFJ) for state and local agencies permitting requirements preferred.
In-depth understanding of hospital ICRA and CRA processes for planning and executing workload preferred.
Understanding of essential electrical system design and functionality for use in medical occupancies preferred.
