Responsible for the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems for the organization. This includes installation, connection, maintenance, modernization, repair, and removal of electrical equipment and systems to ensure a reliable, safe, and cost effective operation for all campus and satellite buildings.

Required Qualifications:


  • Minimum of five years of electrical maintenance or construction experience required.

  • High school education or equivalent required.

  • Knowledge of procurement and contract procedures required.

  • Knowledge and understanding of CMS, TJC, and local AHJ codes and requirements required.

  • Previously completed OSHA 10 hour safety training and have an understanding of NFPA 70E standard required.

  • Extensive knowledge of architectural engineering and contract specification plans and designs of electrical systems required.

  • Knowledge and understanding of BMS low voltage controls and designs required.

  • Knowledge of electrical distribution performance evaluation techniques, load demands, and changing system capacities required.

  • Understanding of NFPA 99, 101, and 110 codes and requirements required.

  • Ability to use equipment/ systems such as high voltage testers, safety equipment, induction testers, sub-station equipment, bus-duct systems, emergency generator systems, motor controls, lighting and wiring, medical equipment, and intercom systems required.

  • Ability to read technical equipment operations manuals, schematics, blueprints, design specifications, and project plans required.

  • State of Nebraska Journeyman electrician license required.

  • Current valid motor vehicle operator license and ability to meet and maintain insurability required.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Two years of experience in a hospital or medical care setting preferred.

  • Two years of trade or vocational schooling preferred.

  • Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate ongoing projects with various personnel, departments, contractors, and vendors preferred.

  • Ability to design electrical upgrade and repair projects and coordinate with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AFJ) for state and local agencies permitting requirements preferred.

  • In-depth understanding of hospital ICRA and CRA processes for planning and executing workload preferred.

  • Understanding of essential electrical system design and functionality for use in medical occupancies preferred.
