Aon Is Looking for a Broker I

 

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Marine practice business group within Aon Risk Solutions in St. Louis or New York City.  As a Broker, you will report directly to the National Hull & Liability Practice Leader.

 

Aon’s Global Marine Specialty Practice is structured to deliver global capabilities locally.  As the world’s leading broker, and as experts in marine coverages and market alternatives, Aon has unparalleled access to world insurance markets and new sources of capital, enabling us to design the optimal insurance and risk management program.  We work closely with various clients – ship owners and operators, cruise, ferry and other passenger vessels, charterers, ports, terminals, and shipyards, as well as other firms with marine exposures– to interpret their needs, using a data-driven approach and technology that collects and analyzes global market data in real time, to support carrier selection and negotiation. 

  

Your Impact as a Broker I

Job Responsibilities:


  • Identify and analyze client exposures and determines which markets to utilize, ensuring thorough evaluation of qualified companies in the marketplace

  • Participate in client discussions to understand needs and develop strategies

  • Acts as the primary negotiator in obtaining the most appropriate carrier coverage from a variety of insurance carriers

  • Create submissions for all accounts. Ensuring submission quality to Aon Standards, including details of any midterm changes, new operations, exposure schedules, claims summaries, etc.

  • Assemble, check and issues binders of insurance/renewal documentation and ensure timely delivery to client.

  • Calculate premium, fees, post-policy adjustments and taxes

  • Provide support, guidance and training to others

You Bring Knowledge and Expertise

Required Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree with strong analytical skills

  • Goal oriented and highly motivated in achieving results

  • Ability to organize a wide range of tasks from various sources and prioritize workload to meet deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Detail-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Good sales and presentation skills, with desire and aptitude to quickly develop effective sales techniques

  • Committed to delivering the highest level of customer service and quality

  • Ability to work within a team-based environment

  • Ability to travel when required

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Minimum of 2 years of Insurance Industry, or relatable experience
