Psychiatric Social Worker OR Psychotherapist

Position Highlights:

Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented individual to join us as a Psychiatric Social Worker OR Psychotherapist. This role will be working with our adult population and providing mental health therapy in ambulatory setting. Please carefully review the required qualifications for each role below.

Shift:


  • Salaried/Exempt position

  • Full time and Benefit Eligible position -- 1.0 FTE (80 hours in a pay period)

  • Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM ; no call ; no weekends

Psychiatric Social Worker (Exempt)

Assesses patients' psycho-social needs, diagnoses mental health conditions, and provides evidenced-based psychotherapy in collaboration with other members of the patient's health care team to reduce symptomatic behavior and facilitate adjustment to illness.

Required Qualifications:


  • Minimum of one year of post-LMHP/LIMHP professional therapy/counseling and mental health care experience or a provisional license required.

  • Master of social work degree from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited university required.

  • Organizational and communication skills required.

  • Experience with computers for access to patient information required.

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) using a combination of Certified Master of Social Work (CMSW) and Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP) required. OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) using a combination of Certified Master of Social Work (CMSW) and Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of professional therapy/counseling and mental health care experience preferred.

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) using a combination of Certified Master of Social Work (CMSW) and Licensed Independent Mental Health 1 Practitioner (LIMHP) preferred. Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) required.


Psychotherapist (Exempt)

Provide evidence-based counseling services (e.g., evaluation, diagnosis, consultation, and treatment) to patients within the psychiatric ambulatory setting for the purpose of preventing or eliminating symptomatic, maladaptive, or undesired behavior and/or facilitating adaptation to physical illness.

Required Qualifications:


  • Minimum of one year of practicum experience required.

  • Master's degree from an accredited college in a human services program which provided preparation for profession counseling required.

  • Organizational and communication skills required.

  • Experience with computers for access to patient information required.

  • Licensure as a mental health practitioner in the State of Nebraska upon hire or PLMHP with LMPH obtained upon completion of 3000 hours of supervised practice required.
