Overview

Do you want to put your skills to work as a Boiler Technician/Operator at our state-of-the-art manufacturing center in Richmond, VA?  Come join us at Philip Morris USA where you will play a vital role in making sure that our production facility is running smoothly so we can continue to do what we do best – manufacture highest quality products.

 

Your job duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

    Operating, monitoring, and adjusting boilers and ancillary utility support systems
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Central Mechanical Plant according to all established regulatory requirements
    For this position, we are seeking highly motivated, experienced and accountable individuals who can work in an industrial, unionized environment.

 

Required Qualifications:


  • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience firing water-tube boilers fueled by natural gas with #2 fuel oil backup (or similar)

  • Have a working knowledge of related ancillary utility equipment operations and computer controlled distributive control systems

  • Have a familiarity with boiler and chilled water chemistry

  • Have familiarity with Delta V control systems (or similar)

  • Experience working in a 24/365 control room environment with little to no downtime annually

  • Be at least 18 years of age, legally eligible to work in the U.S. and for Philip Morris USA

  • Be willing to work on any shift and to work overtime, weekends and holidays

  • Have a strong safety orientation

  • Have excellent problem solving abilities

  • Have strong written and oral communication skills

  • Have a high degree of initiative and conscientiousness

  • Have the ability to ensure assigned work areas are maintained to meet high safety and housekeeping standards

  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance

  • Passion and willingness to learn and grow

Compensation:

The starting wage for this position is $33.49 per hour with the opportunity to earn over $38.00 an hour after three years. You will be eligible for a shift differential payment of $0.40 per hour for working B-shift and $0.48 per hour working C-shift. Also, additional compensation may be available to you through our manufacturing incentive program.
