Primary Function

The Measurement Specialist provides continuous improvement support to Nemours by functioning as an analyst and consultant as required.  This individual focuses on data collection for baseline workflow activities, developing target measures for improvement efforts, and developing and refining daily management system measures.  This individual will work throughout the system with a broad range of stakeholder groups in clinical, operational, and enterprise systems areas.

Essential Functions


  • Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee’s supervisor.

  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and enterprise Associates to develop baseline data measures, proposed workshop target measures, and proposed daily management system measures.

  • Participates in direct observation to: (1) understand process work flow, and (2) gather baseline data that assists with workshop and model line preparation.

  • Contributes to the development of standard work around data collection, manipulation, and analysis.

  • Researches and identifies relative benchmarks to be used in the establishment of daily management measures to ensure compliance with standard work.

  • Extract, manipulate, analyze electronic data from data warehouse repository in support of workshop and/or model line efforts.  Provide analysis in appropriate visual format to customer (e.g. spreadsheet, graph, flow diagram).

  • Uses knowledge of waste elimination tools and techniques to identify clinical and operational opportunities for improvement.

  • Develop and maintain a working relationship with Data Warehouse personnel.

  • Design, test, and revise data capture techniques for use in continuous improvement workshop and model line efforts.

  • Ability to collect and analyze data, both manually and electronically, and manipulate data through Excel and visual presentation tools (e.g. PowerPoint, Visio).

  • Ability to prioritize, plan and execute.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge, Formal Education, and Training

  • Bachelors degree

Job Related Experience


  • Advanced knowledge and experience with spreadsheets & databases required.

  • Knowledge and experience with continuous improvement concepts preferred.
