Our client is searching for a Case Aide with expertise in refugee case management to join their team. This team member will be responsible for providing direct client service for new arrivals, case management, accessing education opportunities, and finding suitable employment . Key Accountabilities
Assist with employment services and case management and support:
Support staff by scheduling and coordinating necessary appointments for clients
Assist clients with transportation to and from appointments to fulfill activities under their service plan
Provide transportation to groups of clients utilizing large agency van or rented vehicles at times
Help clients to learn how to ride the bus
Assist with setup for housing including picking up and delivering furniture
Support community services staff in other ways as assigned
Work with members of team and foster positive internal collaboration:
Collaborate with agency's community services staff to help support the overall objectives of the department
Communicate with team members to coordinate case management services
Assist in ensuring interpretation is arranged when necessary
Establish and leverage community partnerships:
Work to foster positive relationship with partner organizations serving clients
Attend meetings or networking events with other community partners as needed
Act on behalf of clients regarding their case when working with other organizations
Maintain a positive, respectful demeanor during all contact with staff and the public
Documentation and Reporting:
Assist in creating files clients and ensure all necessary documentation is present
Ensure information is entered into program databases in a timely fashion
Assist in compiling data when required for internal quality assurance or other reporting needs
Ensure compliance in protecting confidential client or agency information
Performance Metrics:
Clients assisted in setting up appointments or other services
Clients receiving assistance with transportation to necessary services such as medical appointments, education enrollment, employment activities, etc.
Overall compliance with client documentation
Qualificiations
Fluent in English as well as refugee language (Arabic, Burmese, Karen, Nepali or Somali) preferred
Experience in refugee services preferred
Experience with case management preferred
Experience working with individuals from other cultures is preferred
Ability to independently problem solve and proactively address challenges
Very organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to work nights and weekends based on client needs
