Job Description:

Performs an advanced level of construction and maintenance operating work related to a pipeline system.
Perform pipeline construction, installation, maintenance, and removal work on transmission and distribution pipelines.
Drive and maintain crew truck. Load, unload, and operate tools and equipment including but not limited to:
Pipe and crescent wrenches
Pipe cutters and threaders
Air compressors and generators
Plastic fusion irons
Jackhammers and concrete saws
Mini and large backhoe
Combustible Gas Indicators
Tapping equipment
No blow equipment
Forklift
Respirators
Oxygen analyzer
Ultrasound equipment
Electro fusion equipment/processor
Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment including but not limited to:
Washing truck and equipment
Fueling truck and checking fluid levels
Applying lubricants
Changing oil and filters
Cleaning/adjusting tools
Maintain various records including but not limited to:
Hours worked
Orders completed
Mileage reports
Accident/first aid reports
Leak reports
Investigate customer related orders and/or emergency situations but not limited to:
Low Pressure calls
Class 1 Leaks
Blowing lines
Fires/explosions
Undetectable lines
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.


Experience in use, function, maintenance, and repair of tools and equipment applicable to position.
Experience in application of basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (tested).
Experience in construction and maintenance of transmission and/or distribution pipeline systems.
Experience and training relative to:
Working in excavations and/or confined spaces
Basic customer service activities
Company and governmental operating/safety procedures
Fusing plastic pipe
Characteristics of natural gas
Experience in reading and interpreting maps, atlas pages, blueprints, and job orders.
Experience and knowledge in basic computer functions and relevant software.
Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
Minimum Applicable driver's license.
Minimum Qualified Plastic Fusion Technician certification.
Minimum Applicable Operator Qualifications.
Lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds 10 15 times a day; up to 40 pounds 7 10 times a day; over 50 pounds 10 12 times a day.
Climb into and out of excavations.
Travel over uneven terrain including but not limited to:
Mud
Gravel
Sand
Rocks
Ice
Snow
React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.
Smell odorant in natural gas.
Detect and react to warning signals at work sites.
Able to operate tools and equipment required.
Communicate and/or exchange information or instructions including use of company two way radio and/or company cell phones.
Peripheral vision and accurate depth perception.
Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties. #fieldoperations
