Job Description Summary:

This position is responsible for providing strategic and tactical guidance and oversight for network architecture decisions within Ohio Health. Associates in the position use their extensive network engineering and design experience for analysis, design, and support phases of enterprise wide projects. Activities include developing and reviewing detailed design requirements, identifying functional and non-functional requirements, evaluating and anticipating impact of technical solutions, writing technical specifications, evaluating vendor products, and preparing recommendations for executive management. Under limited supervision, associate must be able to effectively prioritize workload, consistently deliver assignments on time, produce high quality deliverables and proactively coordinate and leverage internal OH resources to coordinate projects and, as needed, to solve challenges/issues/etc. Associate must actively monitor industry publications and electronic information to ensure the technology architecture is aligned with current industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School or GED (Required)CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate - CISCO - Computer Information System Company, CCNP - Cisco Certified Network Professional - CiscoKnowledge and skills typically acquired by completion of an undergraduate degree in engineering, systems analysis or computer information science. Equivalent Experience and Certification s will be considered. - Expert in Architecture planning and design skills, analyzing operations, coordination, and carrying out special projects from planning through implementation and support. - Knowledge and Experience with TCP/IP protocols, subnet masking, OSI model with expert knowledge in layer 2 and layer 3 technologies. Experience in link state routing protocol (OSPF, BGP, etc. ), understanding of HSRP, extensive knowledge of VLAN technology, spanning tree, and interface settings. DWDM knowledge necessary. - Knowledge and an understanding of server based functions. (DNS, DHCP, ACS, Load Balancer, WAN accelerator, etc. ) - Expert in Wireless networking- Contribute/lead development of technology roadmap - Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning- Ability and flexibility to manage a number of engineering projects at one time. - strong sense of network design and data center operations. - Troubleshooting techniques and Experience (ping, trace route, diagnostics methodology etc. ), good analytical approach to problem solving DNS, UNIX, DHCP knowledge and Experience a plus. Knowledge of secure protocols, security concepts such as firewalls, VPN setups, tunneling, and encryption methods also a plus. - Ability to Research, present, makes recommendation and/or takes action on technical issues. - Advanced Experience with personal computer and operating systems- 6 - 10 years of hands-on networking Experience - 3 - 6 years of networking design Experience
