Payroll Specialist

THIS IS PART TIME AND WILL ONLY GO FOR 6 MONTHS

Responsibilities


  • Responsible for the processing of semi-monthly and monthly multi-state US and Canadian payroll for multiple payroll companies.

  • Accurately compute and calculate pay pro-ration for new hires, terminations and salary related changes for hourly, salaried and special payment employees.

  • Create and load payroll data batches using ADP Workforce Now for, one time payments, hours worked, overtime and deductions adjustments.

  • Manage daily Workday to ADP Workforce Now data bridge integration file load. Correct errors and reload files as necessary.

  • Run reports from Workday and ADP to conduct analysis using excel to ensure that all employee lifecycle changes are in sync in both systems prior to finalizing payroll.

  • Run Time worked and overtime report from Agresso and obtain approval prior to processing.

  • Process manual checks as necessary

  • Maintain Workday pay group update upon completion of payroll cycle processing.

  • Audit and verifying the validity of information submitted by HR and management

  • Research information in the electronic or paper records.

  • Assist in the collection or collation of data for reports, audits, and other projects.

  • Maintain, verify, process and file all salary wage garnishment assignments and wage attachments, as related to the salary payroll (e.g., child support, garnishments, etc.)

  • Updates payroll records by entering changes in employee W4 and state tax exemptions and filing status. Maintain 401k deductions and other voluntary employee deductions.

  • Balance and reconcile payroll previews prior to finalization of payroll.

  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.

  • Reconcile payroll quarter-end report and annual W-2's

  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by reviewing payroll reports and analyzing information.

  • Provide excellent customer service by prompt and accurate response to payroll inquiries.

  • Maintains employee confidential data and protects payroll operations by keeping information secure and in confidence.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience

  • Full knowledge of payroll/tax laws, including international and working with expatriates

  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now version 12+ and Workday preferred

  • CPP or FPC certification preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel intermediate

  • Analytical thinker

  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented

  • Ability to deal with external and internal customers in a courteous and helpful manner
