Job Description:

Gain laboratory experience while you go to school.

We are seeking Student Help in Surgical Pathology to:


  • Help in the lab by filing blocks and stocking reagents.

  • Manage cases by filing and pulling slides.

  • Interact, communicate and assist with pathologists and residents as needed.

  • This role requires a student that is highly organized with a strong attention to detail.

Education:

Minimum – High School Diploma or equivalent; enrollment in post-secondary educational degree program.

Work Experience:

Minimum - Experience in an office environment. 

Preferred - Experience with lab equipment.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to organize work

  • Efficiency and time management skills

  • Competence in problem resolution

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member

  • Knowledge of and ability to use Windows based applications

Physical Requirements:

Light: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.

Work Schedule:

This is a part-time, 12 hours per week position scheduled to work between Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department.
