Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Planner Customer Service is to serve as a liaison between the Hubbell Lighting customer service groups and the factory teams with the express intent of enhancing service levels.  Respond to customer service requests to expedite critical orders by communicating and coordinating with the manufacturing facility.  Must thoroughly understand the company’s products and their applications along with possessing a strong appreciation for the need to meet customer deadlines

Duties and Responsibilities

• Interface directly with customer service and manufacturing personnel – first point of contact.


• Coordinate with factory a priority schedule for completing manufacturing of critical orders.


• Communicate the importance of meeting delivery requirements per customer’s request in order to enhance service levels.


• Communicate any changes or questions on customer orders from planning to the appropriate customer service personnel.


• Respond quickly to questions and track responsiveness levels.


• Analyze customer requirements and offer solutions or alternative options.


• Generate and distribute reports as assigned.

Skills and Experience

• College degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Two or more years of business experience with exposure to a manufacturing facility and servicing of customer orders.


• SAP experience or knowledge is preferred.


• Must have strong Microsoft Office – Excel, Word; e-mail and other PC application skills.


• Problem solving and detail oriented with strong follow-up skills.


• Excellent communication skills – written and oral.


• Must be able to interact well with others and work effectively in a team environment.


• Must present a professional manner and appearance.


• Must maintain a clean and safe working environment.


• Must possess and maintain a willingness to assist in all areas of the Company.
