Job Description:

Job Summary:
Registers, reviews and verifies rate lock requests for accuracy and completeness. Provides excellent customer service to loan origination and production staff regarding loan registration and lock-related requests. Serves as a resource for product-related questions and general policy and procedure inquires by internal and external customers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Registers and performs a critical review of rate lock requests to ensure that required data is accurate and complete, the loan qualifies for the product for which it is being locked (to the extent information is available) and all applicable pricing adjustments have been accounted for properly. Ensures that loans that need to be committed to an investor are locked appropriately.

Receives loan level change requests by telephone or email. Provides confirmation to appropriate parties that the change request has been completed and whether a corresponding change to pricing has occurred including extensions, relocks or changes of programs.

Assists in maintaining and interpreting product matrices to help ensure compliance with investor product policies and guidelines. Participates in the testing of new products or changes to products when needed.

Exhibits a high level of customer service to the correspondent and retail loan origination production/management staff as it pertains to loan registration and lock-in procedures. Negotiates and makes decisions within established guidelines as it relates to identifying the appropriate course of action for mortgage pricing and lock-related questions and scenarios.

Performs additional tasks as defined by management to support department and business objectives on an as needed basis

Maintains current knowledge of and complies with applicable laws and regulations, policies and procedures. Generates daily Marketing software position reports. Performs other related duties/tasks associated with producing daily rates to provide to internal and external customers as requested.

Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.

Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Experience: Two years in the mortgage finance industry with pricing/registration/lock-desk experience or as a loan originator or processor OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Knowledge of current regulatory requirements.

Strong analytical skills to assess mortgage rate pricing problems and needs.

Skill in communicating with all levels of origination staff (internal/external) and investors.

Proficiency using Microsoft Office software products.
