The Therapeutic Technician (40 hours per week, Milford, DE ) is responsible for organizing, preparing and assisting in the delivery of Therapeutic and Rehabilitative patient care services in a pediatric setting. The Therapy Services division will begin seeing patients at our new location in Milford, DE in April 2021. Qualifications

High School diploma.

Experience in a healthcare setting required.

Previous work with children preferred.

Computer knowledge and skills include Basic word processing, databases and EPIC preferred

Direct Patient Care Responsibilities


  • Demonstrates proficiency in interacting with all ages: pediatrics, adolescents, and adults.

  • Maintains patient confidentiality related to conversation, medical records, treatment plans, etc.

  • Follows basic medical precautions for each patient (for eating, drinking, mobility) and refers appropriately to health care team/treating therapists.

  • Assists therapists where designated support is needed (e.g., transfers, ambulation practice, etc.)

  • Performs designated pre-planned treatment activities under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist and within the constraints of professional licensure laws.

  • Monitors patients’ Independent Exercise Programs as directed by therapist.

  • Uses machines and tools in a responsible manner adhering to safety practices as outlined by the manufacturer and OSHA standards.

  • Assist in organization and implementation of group programs, etc.

Indirect Patient Care Responsibilities


  • Maintains equipment and supplies; orders therapeutic, medical, self-care, and splinting materials, including ordering and laundering of linen supplies.

  • Monitors temperatures and maintains cleanliness of the patient refrigerator, hot and cold pack machines, dishwasher, and other appliances. 

  • Performs patient check-in and scheduling function when needed.

  • May participate in program, discipline, specialty, and hospital/satellite CQI projects.  

  • Completes and maintains CPR training requirements.

  • Provides orientation, supervision, and guidance to volunteers serving in assigned program area.

  • Must have the ability to work well with others.

  • Regular attendance is required.

  • Good communications skills are required.
