Your Role:  
Reporting to the Executive Director, you will provide direct oversight to core business functions supporting the SHC TDS department of over 850 FTEs. This position has a business focus rather than a purely technological focus and is responsible for the major functions of financial planning, analysis and oversight, human resource management, and business office management within TDS. The Director also is the key Business Operations contact for TDS’ major customers (SHC, SoM, Valley Care, UHA). 

The Director TDS Finance and Business Operations manages a team of managers, analysts, and other personnel within TDS to organize and coordinate these efforts. You will work closely to align these TDS functions with core support units at SHC (including finance, accounting, HR, facilities, etc.) to represent TDS and to create seamless interaction for specialty services involving technology and digital services. This position provides executive oversight and daily operational leadership to financial planning and analysis, business office and customer service programs within TDS. 

 

Essential Functions 

    Recruit, develop, and retain a high performing team to support essential functions of the role 
  • Develop and present a mechanism, and basis to support technology and digital services systems capital and operating investments Lead all aspects of the annual, quarterly, monthly TDS planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and ad hoc analysis for TDS 


  • Establish robust financial management processes for long range planning and forecasting and fostering quality and fiscal accountability for projections 

  • Create policies, processes, practices, and procedures to provide management and tracking of financials and resources. 

  • Design, lead, and own the Technology Business Management (TBM) process and TBM system, including developing and refining system features, functionality, and reporting 

  • Develop and support a methodical approach to identifying and realizing cost saving opportunities 

  • Provide benchmark data and financial support for SHC TDS contracts and pricing to market 


  • Establish strategic alignment by linking TDS strategy with SHC’s business imperatives and a planning process that communicates effectively about costs, impacts, and progress 

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the strategic TDS plan addressing organizational strategies for integration of information systems and communication networks 

  • Direct the development and implementation of a continuing assessment/evaluation process to measure compliance, performance, and effectiveness of system/Enterprise-wide client service delivery; recommend corrective action, as needed, to assure service delivery meets negotiated service level agreements with internal and external clients. 

  • Identify programs to measure benefits, particularly productivity-related, to ensure value is being added consistent with the enterprise productivity goals. 

 

Minimum Requirements 

Education: Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university; Master’s Business Administration degree preferred 

Experience: Ten (10) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience, including five (5) years of supervisory responsibility 

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in simple form to cross-functional departments or teams

  • Ability to strategize, plan and implement change 

  • Knowledge and ability to direct a staff in integrating informational technology services with the work requirements and deliverables of units and departments. 

  • Knowledge and depth and/or breadth of expertise in informational technology disciplines e.g., network operations, databases, software application and interfaces, computer operations, production control, quality assurance and systems management. 


  • Knowledge of new technologies (in specific field) and maintain and stay abreast of updates and changes 

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, administration, fiscal and personnel management 

  • Substantial experience in business case development for large scale multi-million dollar projects. 

  • Must be a self-starter and can operate independently with minimal supervision. 

  • Expert proficiency with Excel and Power point presentations. 

  • Experience leading and developing analytical resources.
