Overview:

Veeco is looking for a highly-motivated Test Engineer to maintain and develop electrical subsystem and system-level designs for complex semiconductor capital equipment. This person will work closely with the development engineering and manufacturing teams to translate concepts into integrated products. They should have strong troubleshooting skills to help resolve outstanding and reoccurring electronic issues that show up on the manufacturing floor. They should have strong critical thinking capability and must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Develop electrical subsystem and system-level designs for complex semiconductor capital equipment by studying customer and internal requirements


• Review End of Life (EOL) electrical components/design and provide updated electrical designs incorporating currently available components


• Execute detailed design of AC/DC/Digital electrical systems, subsystems, board layouts, cables, and cable harnesses


• Troubleshoot complex electrical subsystems and develop standard guides to help the floor with troubleshooting steps.


• Perform hands-on engineering tests, and collect, analyze, and present data to manufacturing teams


• Develop and document calibration and testing methods


• Support project planning by defining scope and tasks, and estimating effort and cost for product and feature development on a range of equipment platforms


• Generate reports, drawings, and other documents as needed and contribute to technical and program design reviews under the direction of program managers


• Document designs for production release


• Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing as needed
  
  

Qualifications:

• B.S. degree inElectrical Engineeringand aminimumof 5years ofexperiencein electrical and electronic design for industrial productsis required.Experience on OrCAD and AutoCAD design with a strong understanding of PADS layout preferred. Experience with semiconductor equipment product development is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong understanding of analog, digital and mixed-signal electrical circuits


• Strong understanding of SEMI standards including S2, S8, UL, F47, CE, RoHS, and other regulatory standards is required


• Experience in SAP desirable


• Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and have a demonstrated ability to excel in a matrix-based multi-tasking project environment


• Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing with suppliers, fellow team members, and management team is require
