Spec Engineering is seeking an impact player and difference maker to join our team as a Machine Assembler who can use their fabrication and assembly experience to improve our deliverables. This person enjoys working with a team of engineers and fabricators to create and assemble custom processing and material handling equipment from blueprints.


Spec Engineering is a privately held, fast growing, and stable full-service process engineering firm and turnkey system integrator. We provide the latest technology in processing systems for the Food & Beverage, General Manufacturing, and Chemical industries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Meet all safety requirements of the company

  • Use hand and power tools to assemble machinery

  • Interpret technical documents, such as diagrams, schematics, blueprints, or other verbal or written instructions

  • Work with other members of the line or group in order to assemble products.

  • Identify any defective items and handle according to established procedures.

  • Ability to use reason to solve problems as they arise.

  • Fabricates equipment and systems per drawings.

  • Works with other members of the shop, engineering staff, and contractors to assemble, build, and install equipment and systems in house and on site.

  • Ad hoc duties including:

    • Manufacturing and running equipment

    • Assembly and building sub-assemblies

    • Finishing; Grinding, Polishing, cleaning, and painting



  • Keep a clean and tidy workspace.

  • Support the cleanliness and organization of the shop/warehouse.

  • Proving daily support to warehouse staff on projects.

    Initiative – Ability to recognize duties that need completion and execute them without being asked. Willingness to do more, learn new skills, and refine existing abilities. Jump in to assist unassigned projects when necessary.


    Teamwork - Balances team and individual responsibilities, contributes to building a positive team spirit, exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views, gives and welcomes feedback, and puts success of team above own interests.


    Attention to Detail – Recognize mistakes and take action to correct them. Strong observational skills and asking questions to ensure all levels of detail are considered. Help develop product quality control procedures.


    Education/Experience:



    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • 2 years of fabrication & assembly experience in OEM preferred.

    Language Ability: Speaks English Fluently


    Certificates and Licenses:  Forklift certified preferred.
