Senior QA Engineer- Cloud at Experian in Costa Mesa, California

Job Description:

Experian is looking for a talented Sr. QA Engineer to help build our new cutting-edge Cloud-based application testing environment. The ideal candidate should be well rounded, self-motivated and be experienced with multiple methods of testing incrementally delivered features and components. We are looking for someone who prefers building automated tests, but who also understands the need for some manual testing.

What you'll be doing

In this role you will be able to take your career to the next level by joining a team that's focused on the transformation from mainframe/distributed to Cloud computing. You will be responsible for operational support including QA design, development and execution in an Agile environment. The QA duties included developing and executing test plans, both automated and manual, performing user acceptance testing against Mainframe/ Distributed and on the Cloud. Additional key responsibilities include:

• Create test plans & test cases for assigned features
• Design & build automated regression tests from test cases using Java framework
• Develop testing tools and resources to aid in testing effort
• Develop utility tools that will help rest of the organization on a day to day basis
• Help define & lead the effort to implement quality requirements & processes
• Comfortable communicating with developers & other technical team members
• Perform UAT / regression testing against APIs, Web Services using internal and external tools, Web portals and reports
• Evaluate system performance, reproduce issues and work with development to resolve identified problems
• Review logs (via SPLUNK) and data analytics for the application and work with Analytics/BI/Bus Ops team to develop and validate analytics information based on business requirement
• Analyze live and historic data stored in, AWS RedShift, Aurora databases
• Ability to perform root cause analysis (RCA) across SDLC phases - Application layer, Database layer, ETL, Replication process, Web Services, UI (Front End), and wherever applicable

What your background looks like

• Experience with Robot Framework, Jmeter and Postman or equivalent tool
• Experience with the QA testing cycle creating test cases, test data and setting up performance and stress testing, and document test results
• Monitoring tools Splunk and Dynatrace
• Experience working on Linux environment and VM
• Excellent communication skills

Nice to have experience includes:

• Java knowledge
• Software versioning, code management, GIT
• Database Applications knowledge, Oracle, DB2 etc.
• Understanding of Scripting language, Korn shell, Perl in Linux Environment
• Experience in Agile Methodologies including QA, Staging, UAT, Integration Testing, High Concurrency
• Mainframe JCL knowledge helpful
• AWS Cloud experience desirable
