The Cardiovascular Portfolio Group brings all of our cardiac and vascular businesses together into one cross-functional, collaborative operating unit to employ the full breadth of our talent, technologies, products, services, and solutions to address the needs of customers and patients across the globe. Cardiac Rhythm Management offers devices and therapies to treat abnormal heart rhythms, as well as cardiac diagnostic and monitoring solutions.

We are looking for a talented Senior Level DevOps Engineer for our Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure (CRHF) Software division. This engineer will help us in fostering a mantra of DevOps as a Culture across a multi-team Agile Scrum organization. The right person will be our go to person for implementing our CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and to continuously look for opportunities to increase our productivity and quality of our software releases.

Day in the Life

• Architect, build, and test microservice-based applications, distributed computing, and high-performance computing in Global Cloud Infrastructure as a Service environment
• Utilize test driven development practices to develop secure, scalable, highly available, and self-healing cloud infrastructure environments that leverage cloud native services
• Execute DevOps CI/CD pipelines and maintain consistent environments across critical applications
• Collaborate with development teams and internal stakeholders to specify operational characteristics and support of complex infrastructure
• Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to identify new technologies and tools to utilize on a go forward basis
• Troubleshoot network and performance issues in large scale distributed systems
• Drive change through new technology adoption and re-engineering where necessary to support continuous improvement
• Resolve issues reported across all CareLink Dev and Test environments.
• Continually improve, innovate and optimize build and deployment work processes
• Provide technical solutions to a wide range of high complexity problems.
• Train, delegate and review the work of junior level employees

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• B.S./B.A.in Computer Engineering/Science or technically related
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

• Experience in deploying and operating infrastructure components in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure Cloud.
• Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD automation processes & pipelines
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) languages like Terraform or Ansible
• Experience developing dashboards/alerting
• Programming expertise - can write scripts from scratch in Python, bash or similar language
• Experience managing cloud scalability or a mission critical environment
• Development experience implementing using the following technologies: Amazon AWS, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Microsoft TFS/Azure DevOps
• Strong knowledge of software build and deployment, configuration management and DevOps work processes.
• Strong experience working in software product development, preferably in a regulated environment. Good understanding of the software development and product development processes, from design inputs through execution of the appropriate verification and validation tests
• Strong experience working in an Agile team setting
• Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking

• AWS Architect or AWS DevOps Engineer Certification
• Experience in deploying/managing software to on-premises, co-located, cloud, and hybrid cloud
• Experience with version control systems with Git such as BitBucket or Azure DevOps
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, DataDog
• Working knowledge of security technologies in a large, distributed, containerized environment; RBAC, SAML, Kerberos, Ranger policies
