Position Title - Software Quality Assurance Engineer - 5E


Essential Job Functions



  • Develop, document, and execute test plans to test new functionality for application releases.

  • Assist in developing, maintaining and executing automated regression tests using Crown Castle’s Quality Framework.

  • Identify issues, enter them into Azure Devops and work the issue to resolution.

  • Administer and maintain regression test data, such as test user profiles and test case data.

  • Ensure that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues.

  • Test new software to ensure integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications.

  • Assist with Level Two application support requests, working with resources to identify issues and testing changes made in support of issue resolution.

  • Participate and contribute to requirement and design sessions.

  • Create test plans and other test artifacts such as test strategy documents, use case documents, usage profiles and security models.

  • Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.

  • Ensuring tests that were created during the release are automated prior to the next release.

Education/Certifications



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration and/or equivalent work experience

  • Certifications in Quality Assurance preferred

Experience/Minimum Requirements



  • Three years of direct experience as a tester for major application integration and/or major application product release

REQUIRED:



  • Basic knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies

  • Basic knowledge with test automation and management tools, such as TestNG, JUnit, NUnit, Cucumber, or SpecFlow

  • Can describe Agile methods.

  • Experience writing code in JavaScript, C#, or Java

  • Comfortable working as an embedded team member, working as a supporting function, working remotely, and/or working with others who are remote

  • Quality mentality and thinking outside the box, ability to envision multi-product relationships

  • Experience using Version Control Systems like GIT.

  • Experience using a backlog management tool, such as Azure Dev Ops or JIRA.

Working Conditions:  Works in a normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.  Sitting for extended periods of time.  Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.  Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.  Some travel may be required for the purpose of off-site software and system applications testing.
