Department Overview
PG&E's Electric Business Operations team is responsible for providing direction and coordination across Electric Transmission, Distribution and Asset Management. Aligning operations and our people with the Electric T&D execution organizations we serve facilitates better planning, execution and overall service delivery. The Electric T&D Business Operations organization is led by a Sr Director who reports directly to the Vice President of Electric Asset and Risk Management. The Business Operations organization is responsible for driving partnerships across key departments within Electric T&D and lines of business across the Company to design and drive the strategic planning rhythm. The Business Operations organization owns and directs several processes including Electric T&D Integrated Planning, Regulatory Filings, and the facilitation of the annual expense and capital budget.

Position Summary
The Work Plan Portfolio Analyst will lead and support various workforce related initiatives for Electric Operations. This includes conducting deep-dive analyses of workforce initiatives based on an annual prioritization process with each Electric Operations line of business, workforce headcount for both internal and external resources, supporting relevant affordability/efficiency initiatives, and ad-hoc support of workforce development and/or initiatives being driven by the Workforce Strategy team. This position has high executive visibility and will engage with Electric T&D leadership, including VPs, Directors, and Mgrs. The Analyst will also work with the Manager of Business Strategy on strategic initiatives including the integrated planning deliverables for Electric Operations 5yr plan and 2 yr executable plan, PCC planning as well as provide support for the Electric Operations leadership team meetings.
Qualifications
Minimum:
5 years of relevant work experience with steady progression of responsibilities including skills data analysis and financial analysis.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, business administration or equivalent related work experience. If no degree has been achieved, successful candidate must possess 9 years of relative working experience
Desired:
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Products
Ability to identify, prioritize, and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
Experience working in Electric Operations and/or a resource management function.
Utility, energy or regulatory experience and understanding of industry drivers, issues and trends.
Strong knowledge of long-term strategic business planning theories, concepts, practices, methods and techniques.
Strong data analysis, benchmarking, monitoring and business/financial analysis skills including knowledge of varied analytical methods.
Strong analytical problem solving and decision-making skills
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Adaptable to changing business conditions and ambiguity.
Knowledge of Portfolio planning concepts, methods, practices and techniques.
Results oriented willing to set aggressive, but realistic goals and to hold others accountable for their performance
Responsibilities
Partner with Electric Integrated Planning team and BF in the annual development of the 5 year Operating Plan, 2 year Execution Plan, by providing analysis that support organizational size and skill sets required to successfully execute the business plan
Acts as a Subject Matter Expert in Portfolio, Resource and Workplan management related initiatives
Leads long and short-term planning to develop prioritized and optimized long range and/or annual portfolio/work plans for multiple work categories.
Oversight of work progression to meet operating plan milestones. Analyzes issues and develops solutions to resolve.
Performs analysis on highly complex data sets that have cross-functional impact including resource balancing, operational trends, benchmarks and financial impacts
Work with EO leaders to gather and analyze operational data and make recommendations for forecasting, scheduling, resource shift, contingency plans, contract/Internal labor mix and timing of work
Evaluates and makes manages internal / external labor work allocation.
Incorporates work plan and resource changes to align planned work execution forecast
Develops and maintains Portfolio and resource planning models
Creates standardized dashboard analytics to present to Electric Operations leadership.
Researches and recommends metrics that would best enable positive business outcomes.
