Maintenance Technician - Lithonia Georgia Facility at Griffith Foods in Lithonia, Georgia

Job Description:

This position installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipes and electrical systems by performing the following duties. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• 
  Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
  


• 
  Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction.
  


• 
  Diagnoses problem or repairs machine may discuss machine operation variations with others.
  


• 
  Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  


• 
  Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  


• 
  Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  


• 
  Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  


• 
  Repairs and maintains physical structure.
  


• 
  Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery such as robots or programmable controllers.
  


• 
  Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine.  Repairs or fabricates machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
  


• 
  Operates cutting torch or welding equipment.
  

• 
  Performs PM’s as required
  

• 
  May operate a forklift as required.
  


• 
  Keeps shop, toolbox and work areas clean.
  


• 
  Performs other duties as assigned.
  

Requirements:              

• 
  High school diploma or GED required; two-year certificate from college or technical school preferred; at least three years’ related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  


• 
  Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  


• 
  Ability to effectively communicate thoughts via simple written communication and/or telephone conversation.
  


• 
  Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  


• 
  Ability to complete Forklift Certification
  


• 
  Must be able to work both shifts:  Monday – Thursday; day shift is 7:00am-5:30pm and the night shift is 7:00pm-5:30am. 
  


• 
  Must be able to work overtime.
