Job Description:

Roll Form Group, a Division of Samuel (RFG), has supplied heavy roll formed product to major industries for over 45 years.  The company was established in 1967 as Canadian Metal Rolling Mills (CMRM) in conjunction with Samuel, Son, & Co., Limited.  Samuel is known in North America as one of the largest metals distributors and processors, with a history beginning in Toronto, Canada in 1855.  With locations in both Canada and the United States, and with access to the Samuel distribution and transportation network, RFG services projects nationwide - on time and on budget.

SUMMARY & SCOPE

Responsible for adherence to all Safety policies and procedures and compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with the respective Mill Operator procedures, work orders, work instructions, and specified customer requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set-up roll forming tooling


• Operate and maintain roll forming machines


• Complete roll forming machine maintenance and preventative maintenance


• Complete all required safety and quality checks and measurements


• Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures


• Ability to safely lead a team to run a mill


• Identify ways to achieve and exceed targets through continuous improvement and Lean 6-Sigma initiatives


• Provide mentorship and leadership to members of the mill crew.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

All Operators:

• Flexibility on shift times and overtime as required


• Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety requirements and safety policies


• Excellent communication and organizational skills


• Forklift experience


• Ability to bend, crouch, and lift items (60 pounds) as required

Class C:

• Minimum 1 year experience in set-up, operation, and maintaining Roll Forming machines


• Ability to run a mill with assistance


• Ability to assist with a changeover

Class B:

• Minimum 3 years experience in set-up, operation, and maintaining Roll Form machines


• Ability to run a mill with minimal assistance


• Ability to complete a changeover with minimal assistance

Class A:

• Minimum 7-10 years experience in the set-up, operation, and maintaining of Roll Forming machines


• Ability to run a mill without assistance


• Ability to direct a changeover independently

Mill Operator Lead Hand:

• Must have 10 years experience


• Act in the absence of the supervisor


• Must have completed all appropriate training for Health & Safety


• Must have good communication skills
