Position Summary

Perform functions to manage quality assurance of all products sold or serviced by Mitutoyo America Corporation.

Essential Job Responsibilities


  • Manage the quality system of Mitutoyo America Corporation’s ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration services (A2LA).

  • Manage the calibration and service software (IndySoft) implementation at Mitutoyo America.

  • Provide leadership in resolving quality issues for all products sold by Mitutoyo America Corporation, including products from both Mitutoyo and non-Mitutoyo factories.

  • Oversee quality issues for all products serviced by Mitutoyo America Corporation, including calibration, repair, and field service.

  • Respond to quality surveys and questions from customers and distributors.

  • Write corrective actions, as appropriate, and oversee resolution.

  • Responsible for final approval of all calibration procedures, policies, and quality system documentation in use by the Mitutoyo America calibration services.

  • Provide leadership in resolving quality issues, seek innovative preventative actions and conduct internal quality audits as necessary.

  • Coordinate annual quality management reviews, audits by external auditors and hold regular quality committee meetings.

  • Identify current and future calibration needs, in collaboration with technical support, sales, and the services departments.

  • Provide training in quality systems, as needed.

  • Represent the quality of Mitutoyo America to customers and at events.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Hire and train employees, assign, review, and check work, eliminate ordinary difficulties, enforce company policies, establish per­formance standards, and evaluate employee performance.

Work Environment:  Office Environment.  Quality Lab where incumbent is exposed to chemicals.

Physical Demands: Lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs.  Use of hand truck, carts and stapler.  Must wear Personal Protective Equipment such as: booties, lab coat, and gloves. 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. 

Monday – Friday 8:30AM – 5:00PM

Travel: As necessary to audit suppliers and to support sales activities.

Required Education and Experience: 4-year technical college degree and at least 5 years of experience in calibration. Must be experienced in ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation of calibration laboratories.
