Job Description:

Summary

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for generating sales qualified leads and advancing opportunities by identifying, prospecting, and advancing key conversations within their assigned market. Additionally, interaction with customers, channel partners and state programs is expected. The Business Development Specialist is expected to generate leads, coordinate conversations with key prospects and set meetings that lead to revenue opportunities and work in conjunction with marketing, sales, account management, finance, legal, technical services, and support/implementation services. Duties may include participating in trade shows, conducting webinars, and interacting and supporting current Appriss customers and prospects at every level. This position carries a productivity related quota tied to achieving revenue goals. This role has no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities


  • Research appropriate health care organization

  • Align with marketing to generate and qualify leads

  • Follow-up on new leads and referrals resulting from marketing activities

  • Transition leads to applicable sales representative

  • Document activities and generate reports including preparing presentations, proposals and sales contracts

  • Actively communicate the value of Appriss solutions with key contacts and organizations

  • Make several contacts daily with current accounts in defined territories, maintaining strategic account relationships, and driving profitable revenue growth.

  • Communicate new product, service, initiative, and relevant information to new accounts

  • Manage and oversee multiple daily sales tasks

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, business, sales, marketing, healthcare or related field

  • 1-year experience in a sales lead generation role

  • Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills

  • Strong customer relationship skills

Helpful / Preferred


  • Advanced degree

  • Prior experience in clinical software solutions

  • Experience working in high growth environments

  • Healthcare background and/or industry experience a plus

  • Outgoing and a self-starter with strong organizational skills

Travel

  • Some travel may be involved for both training and customer facing issues.
