Now Hiring a Data Architect


Interested in building a large scale, modern data ecosystem as a member of a transformation focused consulting company that is working with one of the largest financial service companies in the US? Join us as we transform and modernize our clients' data environment into a robust and intelligent data ecosystem. This is a fast-moving, forward-leaning initiative to build a full featured platform which will serve as the backbone for their big data and data analytics innovations. We are looking for modern data enthusiasts who want to make a big impact, deliver great technology, and work on an exciting team. This is a remote position but must be able to commute to Chevy Chase, MD quarterly.


Profile of Success



  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field

  • Actively participate in data architecture and project discussions

  • Ability to thrive while working on ambiguous or challenging projects

  • Able to multi-task under tight deadlines

  • Able to gather requirements from both IT and the Business partners to envision solutions

  • Experience working on Agile Teams using Scrum/SAFe

  • Ability to mentor and train junior staff


Required Skills





  • Minimum 4 years' experience as a Data Architect

  • Experience with Erwin Data Modeler (preferred) or comparable tools

  • Experience with Data Vault 2.0 Methodology

  • Expert knowledge developing data models for deployment on Snowflake Platform

  • Candidate must have experience with designing Data Warehouse schemas (3NF model) as well as Data Mart schemas (Dimensional model)

  • Expert Knowledge of Azure Data & Storage, Azure Analytics & Azure IoT tools, Azure Data Bricks, as well as the traditional Microsoft BI stack

  • Experience with the Azure suite (Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Data Lake Analytics, HDInsight, Machine Learning, and Stream Analytics)

  • Comfortable with Microsoft Full Stack (SSAS/SSIS/SSRS)

  • In-depth knowledge of Data Warehousing and ETL/ELT

  • Demonstrate the ability to create high quality technical artifacts such as Source to Target Mappings (STMs) and Record Level Specifications (RLS)

  • Perform data profiling using SQL and other industry tools

  • Prototype ETL transformation logic using Advanced SQL techniques

  • Familiarity with the Json and XML schemas

  • Experience with population of metadata repositories and publication of metadata

  • Experience creating and documenting classifications of Private and sensitive data

  • Experience integrating data from disparate sources


Desirable Skills



  • Data build tool (dbt) experience

  • SQL Server experience

  • P&C Insurance Subject Area Model experience (i.e. Policy, Sales, Service, Claims, and Billing systems)
