Hours: Evening Shift

Monday thru Friday - 3p-7p - Holiday rotations required

Holiday Rotation required

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Radiology Aide works as an integral part of the Radiology healthcare

team, responsible for maintaining a safe environment in which quality patient

care is delivered. He/she works under the direct supervision of the Modality

Operations Manager and modality Technical Specialist. The Radiology Aide is responsible for assisting registered and licensed Radiology Technologists and/or other Radiology staff as instructed during routine procedures such as lifting, transporting, and directing patients in and out of the Radiology suite(s) and performs housekeeping duties within the department.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for and/or assists with the transportations of patients to and from Imaging Rooms and on/off imaging table and occasionally to other locations within the hospital.


• Maintains inventory level of specified stock items within department, according established guidelines.


• Responsible for assisting technical staff in the rooms as needed and directed (i.e. turning, moving patients, gather of equipment, etc.).


• Performs between-case cleaning as needed in order to minimize turnaround time between Imaging and interventional procedures.


• Checks status of oxygen tanks and code cart as needed.


• Cleans imaging equipment as needed, including washing down tables/patient surfaces between case, maintaining cleanliness of IV poles, chairs, and all other in-room devices and surfaces on a regular basis, according to established infection control policies and procedures.


• Runs errands as needed and directed by the Technical Specialist(s), Quality Control Specialist, and Operations Manager(s), understanding the importance of efficiency in performing each task.


• Responsible for knowing how to clean all areas of the assigned modality area including furniture and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures.


• Utilizes all IT systems as it relates to their specific modality to support departmental operations as needed.


• Responsible for emptying linen hampers as necessary within Radiology


• Performs other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Job Knowledge and Skills:

• Demonstrates proper use of equipment and supplies according to established procedures.


• Assures equipment is maintained in safe and proper working order.


• Adheres to department/hospital policies and procedures in performing duties and assignments.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Duties may involve general cleaning with exposure to dirt, odors, cramped quarters, etc.

Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
  
  Neat and clean appearance.


• Able to communicate effectively; verbal and non-verbal communication skills important.

• Willingness to initiate communication/conversation with patients and families.


• Satisfactory references


• Certification and maintenance of certification in CPR course B - Adult and Pediatric Heartsaver.


• 
  Knowledge of the special needs and behaviors of infant, child, adolescent, adult, older adults patients required/preferred.
