Pinova Incorporated, a subsidiary of DRT is currently seeking an Operations Shift Supervisor to help lead and drive change at our Brunswick, Georgia facility. This is a rotating shift position. The candidate will report to the Plant Manager and will oversee daily production and assist with employee development for the assigned areas. The candidate will be responsible for cultivating a positive culture, mentoring direct reports and driving results.
Daily oversight for the production including the supervision of the operators. Adherence to the production schedule.
Conduct shift safety meetings and lead safety activities on shift.
Employee scheduling, and reviews and approving time cards.
Oversee jobs during shutdown activities, including permitting and adherence to the implementation schedule.
Perform higher level permitting for hazardous activities, including confined space, LOTO, and hot work.
Participates in or leads root cause analysis for incidents and quality issues. Assists in the completion of corrective actions.
Completed assigned items from MOCs, PHAs, or RCAs in a timely manner.
Oversees or completes the revision of all area SOPs, work instructions and P&ID for existing process and ones identified through the MOC or PHA process.
Assists during the process walk downs with employees as part of the training process. Assists in the training process.
Manage the communications between the operators and management. Ensure that all shift communications are accurate, and all action items are completed as requested.
Review inspection logs and promptly report issues.
Assist leadership in making key employee decisions including hiring, development, discipline or termination of employees.
Mentor employees through training, coaching and performance reviews.
Ensure safe operation of the Brunswick facility.
Monitors production areas for safety, environmental compliance, production, product quality, and efficiency.
Troubleshoots problem areas and makes and executes plans to solve problems.
Timely reporting to plant management.
Working of rotating shifts, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Efficient use of resources, including production personnel, maintenance personnel, process equipment, and mobile equipment
Strong preference for a candidate with a Chemical Engineering Degree and 3+ years of Supervisor experience. Alternatively, 7+ years' work experience in a chemical manufacturing environment, preferably in a leadership capacity.
Strong leader who is results-driven with focus on optimization.
Computer Proficiency in all MS Office Software Applications including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and ERP Systems preferably SAP.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with proven time management, organization and prioritization skills.
High degree of personal responsibility and initiative is required. Must possess a high level of integrity as well as excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with various departments. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.
Strong team building skills and has the ability to take decisions based upon known data.
