The Optimization Analyst will collaborate with end users of the electronic health record (EHR) and IT staff to drive adoption of standard workflows, assess usability, recommend changes, participate in application analysis/design/build/testing, communicate changes to end users, and provide direct support including training to end users. Ultimately, this team works alongside clinical staff in our Ambulatory clinics to ensure the EHR system is working effectively in achieving top-notch patient care
Position Description:
Identifies the clinical documentation requirements for the electronic medical record, as it relates to Quality and Safety. Help coordinate the advancement of clinical information systems to satisfy these data requirements.
Work collaboratively with department physician leaders & clinical staff to promote operational excellence, optimal outcomes & a consistent patient & end user experience.
Supports strategies to move the University of Kansas Health System toward a fully integrated computerized patient record.
Assists end users to identify and resolve problems with the O2 application. Follows through to ensure resolution. Works with clinics to map clinical process flow. Develop and maintain user manuals and administers training.
Collaborate closely with - and communicate between - IT leadership and the clinical community to provide leadership for clinical systems projects and initiatives.
Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates user needs and clinical systems.
Train, educate, and instruct clinical users on features, operation, and usage of software systems providing at the elbow support as needed.
Development of policies and procedures for the usage of clinical information systems.
Participate in EMR optimization and ongoing quality review of user compliance.
Serves as a change management resource and manages the changes in the workflow process that will need to be made with the transition to EMR.
Promotes optimal consistent provider, user and patient experience.
Assists in testing new clinical system applications and other special assignments as directed.
Works in collaboration with financial analysts on any new service or program being considered for clinics to provide clinical expertise.
Analyze O2 management reports to identify areas of need for re-design &/or re-training.
Provide ongoing quality assurance monitoring of the build activities.
Triage optimization requests within UKP & Enterprise priorities.
Analyze end user requests to design, document, and configure applications.
Certification or proficiency in assigned Epic application, or demonstrated learning of other assigned application, must be obtained within 6 months of employment or assignment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required:
Associates Degree in nursing or other clinical healthcare related field or relevant clinical license or certification
3 years' experience in clinical position (nursing or ancillary) in a health care institution or clinic of similar size and complexity
Able to read technical documentation manuals.
Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in nursing or other clinical healthcare related field.
