LewisGale Hospital Pulaski (LGHP) is located in the beautiful mountainous region of Virginia. Pulaski is considered a neighbor to the Virginia Tech Hokie community andis a short 45 minute drive from Roanoke, VA. The HCA (Hospital Corporation of America) hospital is a147-bed acute care facility with more than 350 employees and has been recognized by Joint Commission as a Top Performer. The medical staff includes a wide range of primary care and specialty care physicians, including Cardiology, Otolaryngology, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology and Oncology as well as Hospitalists.

Medical/Surgical Unit

• 
  Atypical Med/Surg Unit
  


• 
  Includes Telemetry and Progress Care Unit populations
  


• 
  Orthopedic, cardiac, stroke populations serviced in addition to the general medical surgical population
  


• A supportive environment focused on fostering educational opportunities and career growth

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)duties include but are not limited to:

• 
  Perform personal hygienic care to include AM, HS, perineal care, Assisted and Complete Baths
  


• 
  Accurately measure and record Intake & Output
  


• 
  Accurately measure and record Vital Signs, Weight
  


• 
  Setup, assist, and/or feed patients
  


• 
  Respond to call lights in a timely
  


• 
  Assist with transfer of patients to and from the department
  


• 
  Maintain a clean and organized work area
  


• 
  Assist with activities, ambulation, turn, ROM exercises patients
  


• 
  Assists with prevention of Hospital acquired conditions
  


• 
  Other duties as assigned by the Designated Charge Nurse, Clinical Team Leader and/or Department Director
  


• Maintains licensure, competency and required education for upholding a competent level

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred)

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

• Licensure by the Virginia State Board of Nursing as a Nursing Assistant upon hire or within 6 months of employment(required)
  


• American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Health Care Provider upon hire or within 90 days of employment (required)

EXPERIENCE:

• 1 year ofhealthcare experience in any capacity(preferred)

HOURS:

• PRN
  


• Weekend & Holiday Rotations
