Group/Division

KLA has manufacturing sites across the globe, including Belgium, China, Germany, Israel, Singapore and Milpitas (CA). The Global Operations (GOPS) team, comprised of Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Installation, and Quality, is responsible for manufacturing our leading-edge technology. We partner with our world-wide supply base and our design engineering teams to bring new products to market. The GOPS team is continuously working to build our products Better, Faster, Cheaper.

The Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer owns technical sourcing, supplier relationships, and program management of precision optical components and sub-systems that are developed with and/or procured from our critical supply chain.

This role requires a blend of technical expertise and business insight, as well as solid interpersonal skills to contribute, drive, and manage at all organizational levels, both internally and externally, to ensure timely achievement of key milestones, and delivery of high quality material goods and services at the lowest possible costs. Drive early involvement of key suppliers supporting our technology and NPI programs handling the sometimes conflicting technical and business challenges.

In addition, this role supports, leads, and manages the achievement of KLA's business objectives, including technology and product requirements, cost reductions, product improvements, and problem resolutions within our supply chain. Technical understanding of our products, commodities, and components; as well as an understanding of both our suppliers' and our own business and market trends is required


  • Technical supervision of supplier operations for efficient delivery and optimized cost


  • Ensure technical performance of mission-critical optical assemblies is maintained between supplier's site and KLA. Resolution of complicated technical issues that arise


  • Proven technical, business, and interpersonal skills


  • Develop and nurture strategic supplier relationships


  • Willingness and ability to work >50% at supplier's facility in Richmond CA


  • US Citizenship or GreenCard required for access to ITAR restricted products and areas


  • Expertise with MS Office applications with proficiency in MS Office Excel to conduct data analytics of supplier factory output data


  • Additional (<20%) domestic and international travel may be required

Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a minimum of a BS Degree in a related technical field; MS or MBA is preferred

Minimum 8 years confirmed experience in engineering or product development, as well as experience in manufacturing operations, supply chain, or procurement. Optical manufacturing experience is highly desired.
