Within BSA hospital there is a high volume laboratory running thousands of specimens 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Each Phlebotomist is responsible for each specimen they draw and is held accountable by daily/monthly reports regarding their workload and accuracy.
Provide phlebotomy service, courier service, and registration service for the lab, to several outside facilities as well as BSA Health System. Process patient data and physician orders in to the computer system and verify patient insurance. Responsible for the transportation of medical specimens from various healthcare settings.
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Graduation from a certified phlebotomy program and at least 6-12 months phlebotomy experience
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Previous data entry and clerical experience strongly preferred
Effective communication skills including fluency in the English language (written & verbal)
Good organizational skills required
Great customer service
Ability to multi-task
Possess and maintain a valid TX driver's license
Exhibits desire to exemplify the BSA culture, including the BSA Mission, Vision and the BSA Way
Must be at least 21 years of age and have a good driving record for insurance purposes.
