What You'll Do The Registered Respiratory Technologist (RRT) is an integral part of the Hillcrest Hospital South team. The primary purpose of the RRT is to be responsible for providing assessment, treatment and control diagnostic evaluation of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities within the cardiopulmonary system.
The Successful Candidate will be Responsible for:
Providing consultations, instructions and/or technical direction
Prepares and administers oxygen therapy utilizing nasal cannulas, masks, venturi marks, non-rebreathers, simple oxygen masks and oxygen hoods, heated high flow nasal cannulas.
Performs postural drainage and percussion, osculates and identifies various breath sounds
Performs ventilator checks and changes circuits as needed
Prepares and administers aerosol modalities using bland aerosols, Ezpap, and small volume nebulizers (If nursery trained)
Performs and teaches Incentive Spirometry.
Interprets and reports vital signs and pulse oximetry as indicated.
Performs ventilator monitoring checks and changes ventilator circuits.
Performs "Allen Test "and arterial blood gases.
Observes professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired regarding personal, financial, medical or employment of patients, families, and employees of Hillcrest South.
What You'll Bring Minimum Requirements
Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy
Must possess an Oklahoma RCP license and NBRC registry for RRT and/or CRT
A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a RRT or CRT
Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, administrative and organizational skills.
Ability to demonstrate an intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc..), and be willing to learn other company specific software as needed
Be willing and able to maintain professional standards of practice and adhere to Hillcrest's Code of Conduct policies at all times
