Assistant Transportation Manager - Automatic Rolls of New England (Dayville, CT) at Northeast Foods in Dayville, Connecticut

Job Description:

Assist Transportation manager in daily operation of the department

• Complete drivers pay sheets


• File Ryder trip reports


• Sort in house mail bags and put in proper location


• Review weekly fuel reports and send to Ryder monthly


• Monitor drivers hours with E-Log system


• What dispatch board to insure timely deliveries


• Complete driver qualification files


• Monitor driver spread sheets to insure driverscompliance with DOT regulations


• Assist with all record keeping for DOT compliance


• Complete drivers schedule as needed


• Make adjustments to drivers schedule as necessary


• Insure all loads on schedule are delivered


• Cover the transportation department when the transportation manager is off or on vacation


• All other duties needed in transportation

Qualifications

• Must have a positive attitude


• Be a good team player and team builder


• Be good with computers - Excel and Word


• Able to adapt to change


• Familiar with FMCSA, CSA regulations

Physical Demands:

The work is sedentary sitting most of the time; exerting up to 10 lbs. force frequently and 30 lbs. occasionally; negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, etc.The work requires no special physical demands. It may involve some walking, standing, bending, or carrying of light items.

Work Environment:

In performing the duties of this job, theindividualis exposed to wet or humid conditions, hot or cold climate, work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level of the work environment is considered moderate to loud.

Vision Requirements:

Near vision needed to read and prepare paper and computerized data and reports, and to examine and compile records.

Training Required:

The individual must complete all annual safety training, ergonomics, and any specialized and/or skill ware training this is required to perform his/her job.
