Job Designation


The Quality Engineer defines and implements quality assurance solutions to a wide range of complex issues. Ensures a high reliability and proper performance per product requirements. Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommends corrective actions.


Job Core Responsibilities



  • Performs assigned responsibilities in planning and implementing quality assurance programs on customer orders. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Inspection plans, measurement methods and recording forms

  • Quality assurance systems, methods and procedures

  • PPAP Key Quality Element development, i.e Process Flows, FMEAs, Control Plans, Capability Assessments, Production Monitoring

  • Statistical methods to control and evaluate process capabilities, where applicable

  • Development of quality assurance data packages for customer review

  • Coordinates quality activities with customers, suppliers, and third-party oversight bodies as necessary.

  • Reviews contractual requirements in specifications and drawings with specific attention to quality requirements and leads the development of compliance matrices for customer acceptance

  • Provides leadership in acquiring and implementing improved QA techniques and processes and makes key processes visible.

  • Serves as the key owner and monitor for processes within the scope of area of specific responsibility.

  • Improves and creates standardized quality processes.

  • Ensures 100% quality and regulatory compliance in accordance with documented procedures for all aspects of functional responsibility.

  • Provides subject matter expertise while interacting with internal and external customers as well as suppliers by meeting regularly, responding to requests, and resolving issues as they may arise.

  • Assists other departments as necessary in establishing standards relative to ensuring product quality.

  • Reviews and approves drawings in accordance with ANSI/ASME Y14.5M 2009 standard, routings, specifications, procedures and similar documents related to assigned projects. Prepares and provides detailed quality assurance inputs to such documents.

  • Translates customer, regulatory, and code requirements into Manufacturing Work Instructions, Quality Engineering Instructions and Control Plans.

  • Reviews, revises or writes inspection procedures.

  • Performs internal process surveillances and internal audits.

  • Conducts RCCA analysis and closure on customer returns associated with assigned programs

  • Reviews, evaluates, and answers customer correspondence.

  • Supports in-process Hold/Witness Points at facility.

  • Participates in the preparation and maintenance of quality program manuals and related department and divisional procedures.

  • Generates, reviews and processes Quality Non-Conformities, conducts containment, obtains disposition, evaluates root causes, and implements corrective action as required.

  • Prepares program quality inspection plans in conjunction with manufacturing routers

  • Identifies potential project quality issues


Job Specifications


Education : Post-secondary degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Certifications :

Years Experience :

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Engineering

2 to 5years of experience in Quality Engineering or equivalent experience

Skills:


  • Aerospace experience

  • Prefer experience in:

  • Lean Manufacturing

  • Regulated Industries (e.g., food, aerospace, transportation, biotech)

  • Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt / Master Black Belt certifications

  • ASQ Certifications

  • Lead Auditor certification
