We are looking for a data-savvy Product Manager to tackle our fiber optic product lines. With a mix of in-house development as well as OEM products, it's the 2nd largest portion of the portfolio with a multi-million dollar run rate. These fiber optics product lines are high volume items that Keysight provides to the Carrier, Service Provider and general Enterprise markets. The Product Manager will lead the entire PDLC, from development to launch to sunset. The Product Manager will be the voice of the customer for the product lines, championing to meet customer needs - customer needs will need to be vetted and validated with industry focused teams as well the field sales organization. Once vetted, they will also work with the Engineering team through the develop process to bring new products to market. This will also include promotion, pricing, training, content and more.
Responsibilities
Customer first: Support customers and SEs with Keysight product evaluations, strategic bake-offs and provide pre-sales support as needed
Be a fixer: address daily needs ranging from customer questions, pricing, quoting, supply, etc.
Keep the engine running: Maintain and grow the existing product line - support solutions teams, other PMs, sales and more with information so they can sell.
Cradle to Grave: Manage a mix of products through the lifecycle - from conception through end of sale, optimize the aggregate portfolio and stay aligned to a dynamic market
Make the business case: research the market opportunity, validate it with customers, develop a market entry strategy, advocate for the product and bring it to market
Keep it relevant: Monitor and tweak pricing, bundling, selling strategies to keep the product competitive. Work with corporate marketing and other functions to grow the business line
Not a one wo/man show: we are big on collaboration - work with your team, the solutions team, sales, engineering, sourcing, supply chain and more to keep the portfolio aligned to customer needs
Tune the engine/maintenance: demand planning, enhancements, purchase models, training, technical presentations, demos, videos, white papers a everything needed for sales success
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or STEM degree
Ability to ramp up fast and learn quickly
Can switch between high level strategy and detailed technical knowledge in a 'heartbeat'
A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in either:
A product management role in a networking company
A hardware development or production Engineer who wants to move into a commercial/marketing role, or
A Sales Engineer who wants to move into commercial/marketing role.
Must be able to build relationships within Product Management, internal development, Sales, Channel Partners and customer organizations
Must be able to have 'presence' in front of internal and external 'customers' and demonstrate leadership
Must be able to quickly adapt to a changing competitive and technology landscape
Regional travel in the USA as needed for training and business meetings, customer visits and speaking engagements and occasionally to either Europe or Asia
Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ability to work independently and as a team-player in a fast-paced environment
