What success looks like in this role:

The Unisys Solution Innovation and Architecture (SI&A) organization is responsible for establishing and maintaining Unisys platform architecture standards and to ensure technology cohesiveness across BUs and to guide Business Unit innovation and the adoption of new and emerging technologies.

Architecture & Standards: Unisys seeks an experienced technology executive to drive the Unisys platform Architecture and Standards Function of the SI&A organization. The Architecture and Standards function provides Enterprise-class integrations for external Partner capabilities and products, as well as a modern, consistent and world-class User Experience. This Technical Leader will manage small highly technical Architects, and guide cross-Business Unit platform integration, architecture and design standards. The overall charter is to establish standards and guidelines to ensure technology cohesiveness across the Business Units.

Establish and maintain Unisys platform architecture standards to ensure technology cohesiveness across BUs. Under the Architecture & Standards lead, there will be a team to support standards for UI/ UX, Unisys Connect and Microservices. Some of the key activities will be:

• Define Technical Solution standards and guardrails for BU development teams.


• Define style guide and reusable UX components for Unisys design system.


• Design reusable microservices architecture e.g., Ai Ops.


• Drive comprehensive integration strategy through Unisys Connect.


• Serve as technical platform SMEs providing input/ guidance (as needed) on:
  
  
  • M&A technical due diligence.
  
  
  • Cross BU-solution offerings.

Solutions Architecture

  Unisys Reference Solution architecture, with Micro-services and consistent Stack - "factor" all products and services into functional components

• Innovate new Solution capabilities with the addition of new Technology and Modern Architecture capabilities.

• Provide a common Integration Platform with a unified security capability - APIs, Virtual Gateways, Integration Gateway.


• Deliver Hardened Software Infrastructure Architecture blueprints.


• Share Best Practices around Cloud Adoption - SaaS enablement of Unisys solutions.


• Evangelize and embrace new Technology and Architecture trends for Micro-servicesand Serverless computing.

Micro-services Platform & Architecture

• Deliver a common Technology Stack which helps with use of tested/qualified components, tools, technologies.


• Enable a common Software and Data Engine (SDE) with common Micro-services.


• Establish Deployment strategy using Container, K8s framework which enables DevSecOps Automation with a consistent CI/CD process.


• Establish Technology Standardization & Governance for OSS, 3rdparty capabilities.


• Provide a Catalog of reusable Micro-services

UI/UX Design-Design System, Design thinking, Lean UX-Agile Development

• Enable UI/UX Design Experience and User Interfaces withfunctional and accessibility compliant user experiences and interfaces.

• Enhancement of Unisys Application Design System (Intranet) which enables reusable design/graphic assets and reusable coded UI components; UI Architecture acrossallsolutions

• Differentiate Unisys market positioning through UX

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Required Education/Experience:

• Minimum 20+ years of experience


• BS Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent; Advanced degree preferred.


• A proven technology executive with thought leadership credentials and experience.


• Highly credible Architecture/Engineering skillset, with exceptional leadership experience in large scale technology organizations and aligned to the latest technology trends, market demand and new standards.


• A strong balance of strategic and business acumen, a high level of intellectual agility, and capacity for original thought.


• Entrepreneurial by nature with a demonstrated ability to lead senior technology professionals and quickly build credibility.


• Proven ability to evangelize and influence innovation


• Strong executive presence, innovative leader in the technology market, influential communicator (at the C-Suite / Business Unit Leadership level, natural collaborator with customers, vendors, leadership and peers.
