Performs various buying, price reviewing, and ordering functions, and maintains inventories and associated records.
Makes bids on non stock and capital purchases, and reviews non stock follow up invoices for accuracy.
Evaluates products for safety and cost effectiveness.
Negotiates and prepares contracts with vendors for pharmaceutical purchases and recommends multiple source drug product purchases for Director's approval.
Serves all patients, including, but not limited to neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Position Requirements
Associate's degree in Business Administration AND/OR Five (5) years previous experience in Hospital Purchasing, Materials Management, or related area.
Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing procedures, bidding, inventory control, and accounting principles.
Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office, purchasing applications and computer spreadsheet programs.
Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to plan and prioritize a wide variety of activities in a high-volume fast-paced environment.
Rquired/Pharmacy:
Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Georgia.
College level courses in purchasing, merchandising, or accounting, OR Five (5) years previous experience in Purchasing, Central Distribution, Materials Management, or related area.
Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing procedures, bidding, inventory control, and accounting principles.
Demonstrated knowledge of ten (10) key calculators, and personal computers and computer spreadsheet programs
Five (5) years supervisory experience.
PREFERRED:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Healthcare related field
Ability to work collaboratively with others and build positive business relationships.
