This opening is at our Kawneer Manufacturing Plant located in Visalia, CA. We are the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic's global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
EHS Coordinator Responsibilities:
Understand Federal, and State and Arconic occupational safety and health regulations and environmental protection regulations
Monitors, tracks, and reports key EHS metrics, and ensures compliance with federal, state, local and corporate regulatory programs
Oversight of regulatory and corporate engineering standards & ASAT audit requirements in programs such as exposure assessments, hazardous materials management, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, radiation/laser safety, asbestos, ergonomics, confined space, health hazard controls, and specific health hazards
Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee / supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach
Coordinate & track the environmental, health, and safety training coordination and implementation for hourly and salaried employees
Performs internal self-assessment activities as assigned (ASATs)
Maintaining technical expertise and serving as a location resource on applicable regulations, codes, and standards regarding health and safety incident prevention
Provides technical guidance and support to the operation's line organization, staff members regarding health and safety matters
Complete exposure assessment on physical and chemical agents in the facility and provide recommendations on the implementation of engineering controls, personal protective equipment, and work practices based on interpretation of sampling data.
Update and conduct training such as; respiratory training/fit testing for required employees, confined space training, SDS training etc.
Assists with incident investigations to ensure completeness and accuracy, develops and tracks corrective actions
Works with data and analysis tools to identify potential safety and environmental issues
Ensure that contractor personnel working on the property are in compliance with Kawneer policies and safety requirements
Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected. Coordinate with EHS Manager on facility deficiencies and monthly safety inspections Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements
Maintain filing systems regarding worker training and safety programs
Assist EHS Manager in Reviewing injury, illness, and hazardous conditions and near-miss incident investigation reports and follow-up to ensure corrective actions are effective and
Lead the Safety Committee, Ergonomics Committee, and Emergency/Medical Response Teams, including setting & accomplishing objectives, and providing continuous education and development for committee members
Research, plan and promote safety & health awareness through drills and specific training programs
Assesses training effectiveness and employee competence

Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum 3 years of environmental, health, and safety experience.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Occupational/Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Safety Science, or a related field, from an accredited college or university.
5 years of environmental, health, and safety experience.
Experience in a heavy manufacturing setting is preferred.
Prefer demonstrated proficiency in program development, incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement.
