Job Description and Responsibilities
We are seeking a General Supervisor to join our Rail Mill team at our plant located in Pueblo, Colorado. As a General Supervisor Rail Finishing, you will be responsible to develop, direct and manage a team of supervisors and their employees in the safe, efficient and cost-effective manufacture of high-quality rail products.
Maintain KRONOS Pay System by reviewing, editing, and approving employee time cards daily
Supervising the shipping of finished product
Use LEAN tools from the EVRAZ Business System engage employees to continuously improve mill operations
Maintain and improve department 6S – daily management
Performance evaluations of new hires
Developing, coaching and training of Employees and frontline supervisors
Monitoring daily production and delay management
Managing financial standards by providing budget information, monitoring expenditures, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
Building of operations & maintenance teamwork
Interface with all levels of personnel
Write and issue Improvement Action Reports (IARs) as needed per company policy.
Process and document grievances as the first step and second step in the grievance resolution process
Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
Five years of steel manufacturing supervisory experience managing cross-functional teams, prefer rail experience which includes special section finishing
Experience managing cross-functional teams
High mechanical aptitude
Functional knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint
Experience with database development, statistical process control, process control and automation technologies, and lean manufacturing principles
Experience with Oracle or similar software
Proven ability to organize, time management, and motivate production teams for safe, high-quality results and maximum productivity
Proven ability to professionally communicate both in writing and orally with all levels of personnel
Ability to multitask
Proven ability to interact with all levels of personnel and communicate professionally in written and verbal form
Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills
Strong leadership and managerial skills
Strong problem-solving and proven decision making skills
Must have ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with proven interpersonal skills
Knowledgeable in LEAN business concepts and practices highly desirable
Compensation
$110,000 - $120,000
