Job Description:

SCITES is the name of the program supporting USSOUTHCOM customer.

Person hired for this Network Engineer role will perform following types of functions:

Design, plan and build communications networks.

Configure routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols.

Coordinate LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.

Monitor the network utilizing industry leading technologies.

Provide innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process.

Plan implementation of enhancements.

Analyze customer requirements and develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

Perform maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.

Maintain network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.

Coordinate the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

Create plans and configures systems for data communication networks.

Evaluate new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

Design and build the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.

Provide guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel.

May serve as a team or task leader. (Not a people manager)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

BA/BS (or equivalent experience)

8+ years of experience

Must be 8570 Compliant

IAT Level II Certification (Security+ or SSCP, or CySA+ or

AND

Operating System Computing Environment Certification (CCNP or CCIE preferred)
